Basalt – White

Glass-glazed Sicilian basalt, often sourced from the volcanic lava flows around Mount Etna, is a distinctive natural stone material prized in architecture and design. Raw basalt typically appears dark gray, but when fired in a kiln, it transforms to a deep, intense colors. Artisans then apply a colored glass glaze (or enamel coating), creating vibrant accents, patterns, or uniform hues while preserving the stone’s durability and heat resistance. This process yields slabs surfaces ideal for flooring, walls, countertops, and decorative elements, blending the rugged volcanic origin with a glossy, colorful finish.
